The Biggest Week in American Birding has begun! Now through Mother’s Day you can participate in the many fun and educational festivities occurring in Ohio, the Warbler Capital of the World. The Biggest Week is organized by Black Swamp Bird Observatory with festival headquarters at Maumee Bay Lodge and Conference Center. Northwest Ohio is a hotbed for spring birding! This annual event is a great opportunity to witness peak migration and learn more about the diversity of our region’s bird species.

The Black Swamp Bird Observatory Office, Visitor Center and Gift Shop is located at the entrance of Magee Marsh Wildlife Area. BSBO hours during the Biggest Week are 9:00am-5:00pm. Birders can embark on guided tours, workshops, and a photography spotlight at Magee Marsh.

The Visitors' Center will be open 9:00am-5:00pm during the Biggest Week. This location offers the Wildlife Drive, a 7-mile route where you can experience the refuge from your car. The Ottawa Wildlife Drive is open from sunrise to sunset during spring migration.
